Chaplain Patrick Conroy’s prayer to cast out demons from the House of Representatives became wildly popular, but few people are very acquainted with the reality of spiritual warfare that’s all around us daily. Charisma Media founder and CEO Stephen Strang says many people ignore the reality of evil until something as terrible as a mass murder happens.
“Then people say, ‘Well, this is evil personified,’ but it’s really principalities and powers, and I think that it explains what’s going on in our country,” Strang says. ” … It is not Republicans vs. Democrats; I believe that it’s really good versus evil. The Bible says that Satan is the father of all lies and we know there’s all kinds of lying going on. … You have to look at it through spiritual eyes and understand that there’s demonic forces behind it, and we as Christians who try to live by the power of the Holy Spirit have authority, just as this chaplain did.”
Many Christians today are divided when it comes to politics, but it’s very important now more than ever for believers to take a stand with our authority and intercede for America, Strang says.
“I hope we don’t wait until we get a socialist government or until we get into war with China to wake up and understand,” Strang says.
