President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu days before Israel’s election, delivering an emphatic endorsement and warning that choosing another leader could jeopardize their partnership against Iran.

In a letter addressed to “the Great People of Israel,” Trump gave Netanyahu his “Complete and Total Endorsement,” Israel365 News reported. According to Axios, as cited by the outlet, the announcement marks the first explicit public endorsement of an Israeli election candidate by a sitting American president.

“Bibi Netanyahu has been Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition, including that coming from even Israel itself,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The president praised Netanyahu’s endurance under pressure and closed with an unmistakable declaration: “BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

Iran stood at the center of Trump’s appeal. He warned that if Israel selected the wrong leader, “which would be anyone other than Bibi,” America would have to confront Iran alone, something he said he was not inclined to do. His declaration that “we will soon finish the job” also raised questions about renewed military action.

Netanyahu quickly welcomed the endorsement.

“Thank you, President Trump, for the tremendous support and work together,” he wrote on X. “Together we will complete the mission!”

But Trump’s backing has not erased Netanyahu’s electoral challenges. Israel365 News reported that a Channel 12 poll conducted after the endorsement showed Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party ahead of Likud, with neither major bloc reaching the 61 seats needed for a governing majority.

Eisenkot said Israel’s citizens alone would choose their leadership. Netanyahu, meanwhile, denied seeking Trump’s intervention, telling Arutz Sheva-Israel National News he had requested the endorsement “Not once.”

Beyond the campaign, Scripture establishes the gravity of how Israel is treated. God told Abram, “I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you” (Gen. 12:3, MEV).

God attached both a promise and a warning to His covenant: blessing for those who bless Abraham and judgment upon those who curse him. That covenant carries enduring significance for the Jewish people and for the nations dealing with Israel. Political alliances can shift with an election; God remains faithful to His Word.
