France is burning.
Cars have been torched, and businesses have been looted. Police have battled rioters in the streets as one of Europe’s most powerful nations faces its worst civil unrest in years.
And now, words spoken by the late prophet Kim Clement nearly 16 years ago are taking on striking new significance.
According to The Associated Press, about 2,400 people were arrested this past weekend as violence erupted alongside nationwide demonstrations. Rioters clashed with police, set fires and targeted businesses and government buildings, leaving the nation looking like a war zone in many places.
Perhaps more fitting now than ever is a prophetic word from Clement, given in November 2010, specifically concerning Europe and France.
“There was a battle going on, as there is today,” Clement said. “A war will take place.”
Clement then turned his attention directly toward France.

“It shall be short-lived, because as France destroyed the power of invasion from the Middle East in the 7th century, so shall it rise up and destroy the invading forces from the east of the east.”
But Clement’s word did not end with warfare or upheaval. Instead, he pointed toward something spiritual that he believed would sweep across Europe.
“There will be a second reformation in Europe,” Clement declared. “God says, I will begin in France.”
Ultimately, Clement’s vision pointed beyond political unrest, violence or revolution.
“Jesus shall touch every tribe, every nation, every language,” he proclaimed. “And the battle shall be won.”
France may be experiencing chaos right now. However, if Clement’s prophetic word proves true for this period, the fires consuming today’s headlines will not be the final story.
The story will be what God does next.
