There are moments when the timing is simply too remarkable not to notice.
What could have become a devastating tragedy in Wisconsin instead became an extraordinary story of survival, split-second action and a group of people who happened to be exactly where they were needed.
Four people survived after a single-engine airplane crashed into a cornfield near East Troy Municipal Airport Sunday afternoon, according to WISN 12 News. But while investigators work to determine why the aircraft went down, another question hangs over the incredible circumstances surrounding the rescue: Was this a miracle unfolding in real time?
A few experienced Skydive Milwaukee skydivers were in the air when they noticed something was wrong with a nearby aircraft.

According to a statement from Skydive Milwaukee quoted by WISN, “A few members of our skydiving community who are trained EMTs were already airborne in our jump plane and jumped out to assist at the scene, which was difficult to access from the road. We’re grateful they were able to help when they were needed.”
Perhaps the most striking piece of the story is the timing. It truly is difficult to hear a story like this without thinking about the providence of God.
Psalm 91 reminds us of God’s protection and declares that He commands His angels concerning His people.
We cannot know everything God was doing in those moments over a Wisconsin cornfield. But look at the circumstances: A plane crashes. Help is already overhead. Those people can reach a difficult location from the sky. And one of them happens to have emergency medical experience.
Sometimes a miracle doesn’t arrive the way we expect. Sometimes, help is already on the way.
