‘God Has Blessed Us’: Dennis Prager’s Family Opens Up About His Ongoing Health Battle

Aaron Prager X

Dennis Prager’s family is thanking God for being there through some of their greatest struggles.

In a powerful post on X, Dennis Prager’s son, Aaron Prager, wrote about how God has been there for them, even during his father’s recovery from injury.

So unbelievably blessed to have the family that I do. This past year and change has been a challenge for many reasons including my father’s @DennisPrager injury. Yet God has blessed us with the strength and love of our family to help carry us forward. By the grace of God, blessings continue to be bestowed upon my father and our family. And I cannot help but feel the immense gratitude for everything we have been given and continue to be given.

Those words carry even greater weight considering just how steep the road has been for Prager and his family.

As Charisma previously reported, the conservative commentator and PragerU co-founder suffered a devastating spinal injury in November 2024 that affected the C3 and C4 vertebrae, damaging the nerves connected to his diaphragm and leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Yet Prager revealed earlier this year that even doctors were astonished by one crucial part of his recovery: his ability to speak.

Prager said multiple doctors, independently, described his ability to talk as a “miracle.” Despite everything that changed after the accident, he also said gratitude sustained him through the grueling recovery.

But the Prager family’s battle was far from over.

In June, Charisma reported that Prager was rushed back to the hospital after multiple infections led to severe breathing complications. His son, David Prager, told PragerU CEO Marissa Streit that doctors had given the family a grim warning and told them to prepare for the possibility that his father might not survive.

Once again, however, Prager pulled through.

“Every time that he’s there, he completely beats the odds,” David said at the time. Prager himself later revealed that after an especially difficult two-week period, his condition took a dramatic turn for the better following a bronchoscopy.

Now, months later, Prager’s recovery is still unfolding—and his voice is being heard again.

While he continues to recover from the life-altering injury, Prager has shared recent interview videos on X, giving followers a chance to hear him engage in conversations about cultural and moral issues again. The appearances are particularly striking considering how uncertain his ability to speak once was.

And that makes Aaron Prager’s latest message about God’s faithfulness all the more poignant.

This family’s journey has not been an overnight recovery story. It has included paralysis, breathing difficulties, infections, frightening medical warnings and setback after setback. Yet through it all, Prager’s family has continued to point toward gratitude, prayer and the blessings they believe God has given them.

Aaron’s words capture that perspective plainly: the challenges have been real, but so have the blessings.

For a family that has spent more than a year walking through the unknown, gratitude is still winning.
