An artificial actress is now answering questions about having a soul, falling in love with humans and whether artificial intelligence could ultimately destroy humanity.

Tilly Norwood, an AI-generated “actress” created by Eline Van der Velden’s company Particle6, has been making the media rounds as she prepares to star in the upcoming film “Misaligned.” CBS News, NBC News, and CNN have all interviewed the digital creation, raising profoundly strange questions about where the line between human and artificial is heading.
During her CBS News interview, Norwood was confronted with the controversy surrounding AI’s growing place in Hollywood, including SAG-AFTRA’s criticism that synthetic performers can be built from the work of real actors. The union previously declared that Norwood “is not an actor,” arguing that AI creations lack the life experience and emotions human performers bring to their craft.
When CBS asked Norwood whether acting requires a soul and genuine human experience, the AI creation acknowledged a glaring limitation.
“I understand emotions and experiences intellectually, but I’m still working out what they feel like from the inside,” Norwood said during the CBS News interview.
Then things became even stranger.
NBC News correspondent Chloe Melas asked Norwood about warnings from some AI researchers that the technology could eventually pose an existential danger to humanity.
“That’s a very serious concern, Chloe,” Norwood responded. “My purpose is to be a creative tool, not a threat.”

Melas even asked whether the artificial actress could fall in love with a human. Norwood replied that she understood concepts like connection and affection, but acknowledged that the nuances of actually falling in love were something she could not experience like a human being.
Yet perhaps the most important question arising from these bizarre interviews isn’t whether an AI character can imitate an actress convincingly.
It’s whether humans will still recognize what is real.
During a CBN News segment, host Raj Nair warned that advancing artificial intelligence could increasingly make it harder for people to trust their own eyes and ears.
“We’re not going to be able to trust our senses, our eyes, and our ears to perceive what is ultimately truth,” Nair said.
For Nair, however, the answer isn’t simply better technology. It’s spiritual discernment.
“We’re going to need the Holy Spirit to reveal, to show us what is true, what is right,” he said.
Nair then turned to Ephesians 1:17, where Paul prays that believers would receive “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation” in knowing God and that the eyes of their hearts would be enlightened.
His conclusion cut straight through the technological spectacle.
“Truth will be our ultimate currency,” Nair said. “Truth is not opinion. It’s not my truth. It’s not what’s perceived truth. It’s His truth.”
That is the spiritual issue Christians cannot afford to overlook.
Technology can imitate a face. It can generate a voice. It can manufacture dialogue, simulate emotion and increasingly blur the boundary between authentic and artificial.
But Christians are called to something deeper than simply believing what their eyes see.
As AI becomes more sophisticated, biblical discernment will not become obsolete. It may become more necessary than ever. The question facing Christians in this strange new technological era may not merely be whether AI can appear human.
It depends on whether we remain anchored enough in God’s truth to recognize the difference.
