Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said he intends to end his service as House Judiciary Chairman.
Politico reported that Jordan also does not seek to return to the House Oversight Committee. When asked about the possibility, he said, “No, I don’t plan to do that. There’s other people who are very interested in Oversight.”
“I’m focused on one thing, one thing only: winning,” he told Politico. “If the left wins, where they want to take the country is very, very scary.” Jordan later reiterated to the outlet that he is “focused on winning. We got to win.”

‘That’s why I’ve been in 15 different states, and so we just keep going to help our colleagues and candidates,” he said.
Jordan could have requested a waiver to continue serving on House Committees, but opted not to do so. When asked about lawmakers who are seeking waivers, he said, “They want a waiver, that’s fine. It’s been granted in the past, and sometimes they get them, sometimes they don’t.” He explained it was “up to the conference and the steering committee.”
Jordan has been involved in major investigations surrounding the weaponized justice system and former special counsel Jack Smith. In July, Jordan urged the DOJ to investigate Smith after he allegedly made false statements before Congress. His statements “contradict new documents obtained by the Committee,” Jordan’s letter to then-Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche read.
Jordan previously launched an inquiry into Nathan Wade, a prosecutor hired by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, and sought information from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for information relating to “unaccompanied alien children” (UAC).
