As public fascination with UFOs, government disclosure and extraterrestrial life reaches a fever pitch, one Catholic priest is urging believers not to let the growing conversation shake their faith.
During a recent episode of Battle Ready, Father Dan Reehil examined the cultural momentum surrounding UFO disclosure and Steven Spielberg’s new film Disclosure Day, which reportedly explores the impact of confirmed alien contact on humanity.
According to Reehil, what concerns him most is not the possibility of extraterrestrial life itself, but the suggestion that such a revelation could undermine faith in God.

“Why would you make a movie with the distinct outcome being people’s faith would be shaken or lost?” Reehil asked. “That seems very much like something the Antichrist would do—or Satan. That’s been his game since the garden.”
The priest also referenced recent controversy surrounding Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, a well-known exorcist who suggested that some alleged alien encounters could potentially involve demonic deception.
He defended the possibility, noting that Christian history contains numerous accounts of demonic manifestations taking different forms.
“Demons have appeared in many ways, shapes and forms for millennia,” he said.
Perhaps his strongest warning centered on the spiritual influence media can potentially carry. Recalling stories he had heard about musicians allegedly dedicating albums to Satan, Reehil suggested that films could theoretically be subjected to similar spiritual practices.
“The movie could be consecrated to Satan, and demons can be attached to the movie,” he said. “They could put a curse over the film that all who watch it would have demons provoke them. It could happen.”
He further insisted that outside circumstances should never threaten authentic Christian faith.
“The truth of Christ rests upon who God is, not upon what we discover,” he said.
Ultimately, he urged believers to remain rooted in prayer, Scripture, and devotion to Christ.
“No scientific breakthrough can cancel the death and resurrection of Jesus,” he said. “No announcement from any government can undo the empty tomb.”
