As early conversations about the 2028 presidential election intensify, former Vice President Kamala Harris is once again emerging as a central figure in America’s political future. According to a recent Newsweek report, Harris currently leads several early Democratic primary polls, while California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to gain traction as another possible frontrunner.

But for many Christians, the renewed spotlight on Harris is sparking deeper prophetic conversations—particularly around spiritual questions raised by Jonathan Cahn in his book The Avatar.

In The Avatar, Cahn repeatedly warned that America is not merely facing political division, but a spiritual battle over the nation’s identity, values and future, and that Harris’ involvement is key to what the nation could face next. Connecting Harris to the biblical figures of Athaliah and Jezebel, Cahn makes a striking case:

Athaliah, through Jezebel, was born of a culture that worshipped goddesses along with gods, especially Ashtarte, or Ishtar, the goddess who defied male authority and the patriarchy of the gods. To worship the goddess was to venerate female power. Both Jezebel and Athaliah would, by their acts and nature, embody that spirit.

So Hilary Clinton, in her rise to power, became the most prominent advocate and embodiment of American feminism and female power. As Athaliah followed in the footsteps of her mother, Jezebel, so Kamala Harris, in her rise to power would follow in the footsteps of Hillary Clinton and would, as had her predecessor, become, in her time in the national spotlight, the foremost embodiment of American feminism and female power.

As America moves toward another pivotal election season, the deeper issue may not simply be who occupies the White House—but what spiritual forces are shaping the soul of the nation behind the scenes.

As Harris once again appears to be re-emerging as a leading national figure and the 2028 race begins taking shape, this is not a time for spiritual complacency. Scripture reminds believers in Ephesians 6:12 that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” In a season filled with political upheaval and cultural uncertainty, believers are being called not to fear, but to stand firm in truth, remain spiritually awake and seek God’s wisdom for the days ahead.
