In a powerful interview with his brother, Buckley Carlson, Tucker and Buckley each gave eye-opening insight into how their perspective has changed on the president over the years.

In 2015, Buckley Carlson corresponded with Stephen Miller on the Trump campaign where he wrote early rally speeches.

“I had a lot of freedom. The stuff that I delivered — I felt like I was writing from my own perspective. It was like some of the easiest speeches to write because they were honest, straightforward, pugnacious and unapologetic,” Buckley stated.

“Tormented”: the moment of reckoning

Expressing his disillusionment with Trump, Tucker Carlson noted that it was because of people like himself and his brother that Trump became the president.

“You and I and everyone else who supported him — you wrote speeches for him, I campaigned for him — I mean, we’re implicated in this for sure. It’s not enough to say, ‘Well, I changed my mind.’ In very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now. So I do think it’s like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. We’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people — it was not intentional,” Tucker said.

The Epstein files and what comes next

For Buckley, the Epstein files were the moment Trump redefined MAGA as whatever suited him that day: “MAGA is not what I articulated clearly and coherently for 10–12 years. MAGA is what I say it is today — because I’m Donald Trump,” he quoted Trump.

Buckley closed with a warning. He says there has never been more fertile ground for real unrest. He predicts the left will return with organized retribution after the midterms, and that when it does, Trump’s supporters will be unprotected.

While we cannot know what the exact future will hold, we can know this: That no matter who is the president, God has never and will never leave nor forsake those who love Him and have been called by Him to be a light in the darkness.
