Gen Z is done with trivial religion. Instead, they are craving a real relationship with Jesus with all that they have.

In a powerful interview with Fox News, evangelist and podcaster Bryce Crawford explained why young adults today are so fervently pursuing a relationship with Jesus.

“We’re tired of fake stuff. We’re tired of fluff,” Crawford stated. “We’re fed fluff through our phones, through desires, through whatever we think is going to satisfy.”

Crawford further stated the necessity of what each person is desperately longing for. “Every human being is on a quest for love, and we try to fill that void with different things, and I think people are naturally understanding, ‘Wait, this thing isn’t working anymore. This isn’t going how I thought it was going to go,’ so ultimately, people don’t just want a truth, they want the truth, and that would be Jesus.”

Crawford sees a true wake-up call happening within the next generation to see true change in their lives. “We’ve lived for so many different things, different people, relationships, substances, different vices, and it doesn’t fulfill us.”

What we are witnessing is more than a generational shift—it’s a spiritual awakening stirring beneath the surface. Gen Z is rejecting the counterfeit versions of faith that lack power, presence and truth. There is a deep cry rising from this generation: Give us something real. And that cry is not going unanswered. God has always responded to hunger, and Scripture reminds us that those who seek Him will find Him.

The challenge now falls to the church. Will we continue offering polished presentations and empty routines, or will we return to the raw, life-changing reality of the gospel?
