The Vatican has made an official statement regarding President Donald Trump’s offer to join the Board of Peace.
In a report by NBC News, the Vatican’s top diplomat, Pietro Parolin, noted that the Pope will not be joining the Board of Peace.
Parolin stated that the Vatican “will not participate in the Board of Peace because of its particular nature, which is evidently not that of other States…” He also said that “…at the international level, it should above all be the UN that manages these crisis situations. This is one of the points on which we have insisted.”
Pope Leo received an invitation from President Trump in January to join the Board of Peace. At the time, Pietro Parolin said, “The pope has received an invitation, and we are considering what to do…it will be something that requires a bit of time for consideration before giving a response.”

Even with the Vatican declining direct involvement, the Board of Peace still has many end-times implications. Passages such as 1 Thessalonians 5:3 speak of a time when people will be declaring “peace and safety,” only for sudden disruption to follow. Biblical prophecy also warns of the coming Antichrist, who is described in passages like Daniel 9 and Revelation 13 as initially bringing solutions and stability before revealing a darker agenda. For those watching world events through a prophetic lens, the concern is about the potential for a growing global dependence on centralized peace structures that could one day be used deceptively.
Will the Board of Peace usher in end-times events even quicker than we expected? We will have to let things play out to see.
