Are we getting closer to the coming of the Antichrist?
In a recent interview with Charisma Media, Pastor Billy Crone warned that current geopolitical developments may mirror patterns described in Scripture about the last days.
Crone pointed to the concept of a global peace structure forming outside traditional institutions, specifically referencing the recently created Board of Peace.
“That is the event that will start the seven-year tribulation. That guy who does that will be the actual Antichrist,” Crone said, connecting the idea of a future peace covenant involving Israel to Daniel 9:27.
While Crone emphasized that he was not labeling any current leader the Antichrist, he stressed the prophetic urgency of establishing the Board of Peace. “I’m not saying Trump is that guy. I’m just saying, here we have a board of peace put together, circumventing the UN and all these other ones that have been around that can’t get the job done.”
Crone further said Christians should not be surprised by rapid geopolitical shifts. “It’s almost like we’re living in the last days, and it’s time to get motivated. God told us this in advance for a good reason.”

He explained that the Antichrist will broker a covenant with Israel that will trigger the seven-year Tribulation period.
For Christians who hold to a pre-tribulation rapture view, he said this suggests the church’s departure could be drawing near. “The good news for you and I as a born-again Christian is we’re not going to be there… the rapture which happens prior has therefore logically, biblically got to be getting close.”
The conversation also turned to long-standing tensions over Israel’s land and peace negotiations. Crone issued a strong warning rooted in his reading of biblical promises. “You do not divide the land. That land belongs to Israel. It’s always been their inheritance. It came from God.” He noted that global attempts to force peace solutions have repeatedly failed and, in his view, will continue to fail until a single future leader successfully brokers a deal.
Another major point of the discussion centered on the possible prophetic significance of global leadership consolidation. Referencing Revelation 17, Crone highlighted the passage describing ten kings or leaders who eventually give their authority to the Antichrist. “The 10 horns you saw are 10 kings… They have one purpose, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.”
Crone also connected technological advances to prophetic concerns, especially regarding artificial intelligence. “You need AI to pull it off,” he said, referencing the infrastructure he believes could support a future global economic control system described in Revelation 13.
Despite the warnings’ intensity, Crone repeatedly emphasized that prophecy should motivate spiritual readiness, not fear. He urged Christians to stay grounded in Scripture as global events accelerate. “It’s going to happen because God said it’s going to happen.”
