Internet commentator Candace Owens recently revealed that she has received a cease-and-desist letter from Turning Point USA, escalating a growing feud that has already gripped the conservative movement.
Owens, who formerly toured and spoke under contract with Charlie Kirk and Turning Point, told viewers that the letter accuses her of violating a non-disparagement clause, despite what she describes as unforeseeable circumstances. “I signed an agreement to work beside Charlie Kirk because he built a company that I believed in,” she said. “It would be unconscionable for me to choose silence in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s public assassination.”
According to Owens, the 12-month clause restricting criticism went into effect after TPUSA terminated its speaking contract in December. She says TPUSA leadership has taken the position that her allegations, questions, and comments regarding finances, personnel, and potential internal corruption constitute a breach.
Owens then read key portions of the cease-and-desist letter aloud, including the passage stating that her statements are “continuing to cause harm” to the organization, and that Turning Point is “currently working to calculate the full extent” of the damages. “So someone’s with a calculator,” Owens joked, adding that if damages were truly accruing, they may want to “start with themselves.”

The letter further demands that Owens “cease stating or implying” that TPUSA or any of its employees “played any part in Mr. Kirk’s assassination,” or that they “knew about the assassination beforehand, participated in the assassination day of, or covered up the truth after the fact.”
In her classic fashion, Owens did not back down from her insinuations and conspiracies, reiterating that deception alone was enough to draw reasonable suspicion. She also mocked the letter’s suggestion that her commentary implied financial impropriety, saying that Turning Point appeared most concerned with money.
Turning her sarcasm up further, she told viewers to “give all of your money to Turning Point USA… They are amazing… They are the most financially proper organization in the world.”
Concluding this portion of her show, Owens made clear that a contractual threat will not silence her. “Name your price. How much money do you want? I’ll raise it overnight. People want the truth.”
This legal battle comes after Erika Kirk and Owens sat down in a private conversation after months of Owens spewing claims about the involvement of Turning Point USA in the assassination of its co-founder, Charlie Kirk.
