The federal immigration raid that rocked Minneapolis on Jan. 7 has now taken a sharp turn after the identification of the ICE agent who fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This took place after she attempted what the Department of Homeland Security said was “to run a law enforcement officer over” with her vehicle.
According to Newsweek, the agent involved was Jonathan Ross, who was previously “involved in the June 17, 2025, apprehension of Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a convicted sex offender originally from Guatemala, in Bloomington, Minnesota.” The outlet noted that Ross had previously been injured during that arrest in Bloomington in which he was “dragged roughly 100 yards down the street before breaking free.”
Good’s death occurred during what the Department of Homeland Security described as a large-scale immigration enforcement initiative in southern Minneapolis.
The Guardian reported that federal agents “approached Good’s SUV during an immigration sweep.” Following this incident, protests erupted across Minneapolis.
As Charisma Media reported, both President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have spoken out about the incident, with Vance calling it “an attack on federal law enforcement” and “an attack on the American people.”
