Prayer is not just a spiritual routine—it’s an invitation to partner with God and witness breakthroughs that defy human expectation. In a recent prophetic message, Bethel senior pastor Bill Johnson shared how he believes prayer will be the catalyst God uses to do the miraculous over the course of the next year.
“I feel like the next 12 months are supposed to be the most extreme and extravagant breakthroughs we’ve ever seen in prayer,” Johnson declared. These breakthroughs will not be the result of our intelligence or effort, but of our ability to discern God’s heartbeat and align our prayers with His will. “There are things that have yet to happen that are going to happen—not because we are so intelligent, not because of anything except that we’ve learned to hear His heart,” he said.
Johnson highlights how prayer is a collaboration with the Lord, not a checklist. Johnson referenced John Wesley, saying, “Prayer is unbelievably important. God does nothing in the affairs of man except in answer to prayer.” Even the arrival of the Messiah was preceded by centuries of intercession, showing that God’s work often requires human engagement before His glory can be released.

Johnson also pointed out that sometimes, it’s not more prayer that’s needed—it’s prayer done differently. “Sometimes we’ve been asking God to do something He told us to do, and we finally realize, actually, I need to speak to the mountain myself instead of asking God to remove the mountain,” he explained. Prayer, when combined with action and faith, activates God’s authority on earth and releases His power.
Corporate prayer amplifies this effect, as Johnson demonstrated with a powerful call to action. He led the congregation in praying for financial breakthroughs, reconciliation and healing, encouraging them to declare, “I receive the healing that Jesus bought for me.” The atmosphere of faith and expectation invites the Holy Spirit to move in tangible ways, turning embryonic answers into full-blown miracles.
According to Johnson, the next 12 months are a time to embrace faith, courage and the supernatural. “I keep coming back to this feeling like it’s time. It’s time—His time,” Johnson said. God is ready to release favor, reconciliation and healing in ways we’ve never seen before. Answers to prayer don’t just solve problems—they manifest God’s glory, transform communities and draw people into His Kingdom.
This season is a call to step into prayer with boldness and expectation, knowing that every answered prayer releases God’s presence. The next 12 months may very well be the most extraordinary season of your life yet. All that is required is the faith to see God move in 2026.
