How Trump’s Presidency Intersects with Bible Prophecy

At a time of massive global disruption, threats of nuclear war, and catastrophic natural disasters of biblical proportions—when 63 percent of evangelical Christians believe we are “living in the end times” and nine in ten pastors say current events align with what Jesus warned would happen before His return—many are looking at how President Donald Trump fits into unfolding biblical prophecies.

For many followers of Christ, Trump’s return to the White House is seen as part of God’s plan for America and the world.

Prophetic voices have compared Trump to Cyrus the Great, the Persian king who helped the Israelites return from exile. Others view him as a modern-day Jehu, the disruptor who exposed and addressed the corruption of his time.

Voices like Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Lance Wallnau and Joseph Z believe Trump has been chosen to challenge the Deep State and pave the way for national repentance and revival.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn: Trump and Jehu

Over the years, I’ve interviewed many faith leaders about how America may fit into God’s prophetic timeline, including Cahn. His 2012 book The Harbinger ignited a national conversation about judgment and the need for repentance. More recently, he’s drawn parallels between Trump and Jehu.

Remember, Jehu was a warrior king, raised by God to disrupt the entrenched powers, tear down the idolatrous altars of Baal and rid Israel of corruption.

Jehu wasn’t part of the establishment. Nonetheless, he was anointed by God to challenge the wicked rulers of his time, including Jezebel and Ahab, who had led Israel into apostasy. Likewise, Trump, also an outsider, came onto the political stage rough and unpredictable. He won reelection vowing to “drain the swamp” and push back against globalist policies that many view as a threat to American sovereignty and religious freedom.

At the National Faith Advisory Board’s Inaugural Faith Summit in 2024, Cahn said Trump was “born to be a trumpet of God, a vessel of the Lord, with a destiny to overturn America’s ‘cult of Baal’ and end the sacrifice of millions of unborn babies” through the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion.

Lance Wallnau: A Divine Disruption

Political commentator Lance Wallnau sees Trump as a modern-day Cyrus, the outsider king chosen by God to free the Jews from Babylonian captivity and rebuild Jerusalem.

Like Cyrus, Trump is a figure who came from beyond the halls of power, yet God is using him for a higher purpose.

Wallnau has cited Trump’s decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as pivotal, mirroring Cyrus’s decree allowing the Jews to return to the Promised Land.

“I believe Trump is the chaos candidate who has been set apart by God to navigate us through the chaos coming to America,” Wallnau wrote in God’s Chaos Candidate. “With him in office, we will have authority in the Spirit to build the house of the Lord and restore the crumbling walls that separate us from cultural collapse.”

Joseph Z: A Populist Revival

Prophetic voice Joseph Z also views Trump as a figure God chose to restore America to its Judeo-Christian roots. He sees Trump’s leadership as part of God’s bigger plan to ignite revival.

“I believe that he is fulfilling the prophecy that is similar to what you write about, and many of us talk about, and that is the Cyrus prophetic word,” Joseph Z said. “I believe he is fulfilling a prophetic purpose for the body of Christ at this time. And I believe that God is raising him up to not only rescue America, but help the church get through and fulfill the Great Commission for our generation.”

In 2015, before Trump took office, Joseph Z stood in Trump Tower asking God who would win the election. The answer stunned him.

“I said, ‘God, is America going to go down? Is it going to burn? Is it over with?’ And the Spirit of the Lord roared to me in Trump Tower and said, ‘No, America has one more round, because the young lions are coming.’…I believe if we stand as the righteous, we will push aside this onslaught of what I call the wicked lizard overlord mafia that answers to their goblin masters trying to run this place into the dirt,” Joseph Z said.

Before the 2024 election, Joseph Z told me Trump’s reelection would ignite a “populist revival.”

“I believe the revival we’ve all been praying for and believing God for is going to come,” he said. “It’ll be a populist revival. I believe the followers of Donald Trump, or those who are having rallies and gatherings…[are] a catalyst for revival. I believe God is using politics to wake up the nation, but I believe the church will come in and induce revival through some of these gatherings, because when they realize politics doesn’t have the answers they’re looking for, the church will rise up.”

Trump’s policies, especially his support for Israel and religious freedom, are, in Joseph Z’s view, good signs. Still, he has a warning:

“The Lord spoke to me [following Trump’s reelection] and said, ‘The church is the nuclear deterrent,’” Joseph Z said. “I got a witness in my spirit that said…If we get to July [2025] without a nuclear incident…we’re going to see the turn of the tide.”

“I believe we’re in sixteen years of redemptive instability where we’ll see a turnaround and victory come. I believe we could see twenty years of life that begins the rebuild to the year 2040; I believe God has a marker on that year.… The word of the Lord for 2025 is that we, as the body of Christ, the ecclesia, are to storm Babylon. We are to continue rising in prayer, pushing back [against] this nefarious agenda of witchcraft, darkness, social evils, this woke ideology, this control over our economics, this wickedness that’s happening with an invasion of our nation.”

Trump the Disrupter

These faith leaders see Trump’s role as a disrupter, helping break the grip of entrenched powers on the United States—the Deep State, globalists, and the political elite.

Whether it’s through his defense of Judeo-Christian values, foreign policies, or resisting the establishment, they believe God is using Trump to accomplish a bigger plan.

In my last book on Trump, The Trump Code, I explored the curious parallels between Trump and the nineteenth-century novels The Baron Trump Collection by American lawyer Ingersoll Lockwood. They seemed to have predicted his rise to power in uncanny ways.

As the book approached its September 2024 release, I asked questions on social media that sparked debate, including a post on my Prophecy Investigators’ X (formerly Twitter) account featuring an image of the book and the headline: “Judgment or Revival—Great Awakening or Great Reset?”

It garnered over 2.6 million views and generated hundreds of comments.

Could these novels written in the 1890s have foreshadowed Trump’s rise? Could the mysteries of time, the work of Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein, and prophetic destiny play a role in the events we’re witnessing now? Is Providence guiding events in ways we barely comprehend?

Now, in Designated Disrupter, I’m asking a deeper question: Could God be using controversial figures—Trump, Tucker Carlson, Jordan Peterson, Russell Brand, and many others—not just to disrupt politics and culture but to inspire a global spiritual awakening?

I believe America is in the “Nineveh moment” foreseen by famed evangelist Billy Graham. We’re at a tipping point. Either we return to God or we face collapse.

My friend Joseph Z understands the importance of the prophetic moment we’re living in:

“Troy, your data on the story of Baron Trump and his Uncle Don, and all these things that are happening in this narrative, are so profound they’re actually breathtaking,” Joseph Z said. “There’s a Latin term called sensus plenior…a deeper, fuller meaning that happened before, is happening again, and repeating itself. What I see is a repeating anointing with a sensus plenior where Donald Trump is…fulfilling the purposes of God.”
