Following the recent elections across the United States, Pastor Jack Hibbs is calling Christians to wake up and face a sobering reality: the nation’s spiritual and political direction directly impacts believers. “As a believer, as a Christian, it’s going to affect you directly,” Hibbs said, warning that the church can no longer afford apathy.

Hibbs recalled the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, noting how Islamic jihadists targeted the epicenters of American commerce, military power and government. “Well, not only have we not kept that [motto ‘never forget’], we have actually intentionally forgotten,” he stated, pointing to the election of New York’s new mayor, a Muslim with socialist leanings. “Do you think for a moment if you know your Bible that that’s a coincidence? In the Hebrew language, there is no word for coincidence. I think God’s plan is unfolding upon a Christ-rejecting nation.”

The pastor stressed the spiritual consequences of national sin, including abortion policies that were allowed under the Biden administration. “We have offended the God of heaven. America needs to repent of her sins. But will she?” Hibbs asked, pointing to biblical examples such as Nineveh and Noah, as reminders that God’s patience is not infinite.
“Could the United States be in the opening throes of judgment? I believe we are,” he warned. Hibbs emphasized that the attackers of 2001 are now advancing in influence, and Christians’ historical reluctance to engage in politics may have contributed to the nation’s current path. “For the church in America, we have sown apathy, and we are about to reap what we get. I pray that I’m wrong. I’m fearful that I am correct.”

Hibbs ultimately called believers to keep their focus on Christ. “Our politics is in heaven. Put your eyes on Christ. Focus on Him and get ready,” he said, urging the church to maintain faith, sustain their families spiritually, and prepare for whatever lies ahead.
