Vice President JD Vance visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to honor veterans and active-duty service members while observing the critical care and support they receive. With Veteran’s Day coming around the corner on Tuesday, Nov. 11, this visit highlighted his support for all those who have served and are currently serving in the military.
During the visit, Vance toured multiple wards, including those specializing in rehabilitation for physical injuries, neurological care and post-traumatic stress recovery. He observed a variety of treatments in action, including advanced physical therapy and prosthetic care, as well as occupational therapy and adaptive technology for mobility and daily living.

Part of Vance’s visit included a look at medical technologies at Walter Reed, including cutting-edge prosthetics, robotic-assisted rehabilitation, and neurocognitive therapy programs. Ultimately, the patients and medical specialists discussed with him an array of treatments they use for a range of battles they face on a regular basis.
“What do you need from us? What can we help to do in Washington?” he asked.
By touring the facility and witnessing care firsthand, Vance highlighted the ongoing support needed for America’s heroes, emphasizing the importance of honoring service through action and investment in their health and recovery.
“We’re very proud of you. We’re grateful for your service and just keep on getting better,” Vance said to all those he met.
Vance also attended the ball for the Marine Corps’ 250th birthday over the weekend, while President Trump made a statement on Monday, sending his well wishes.

As Veterans Day approaches, this visit serves as a reminder to honor and pray for all those who faithfully serve in America’s military. From the frontlines to medical recovery wards, service members face unique physical, emotional and spiritual challenges.
