In an unprecedented moment in Israel’s modern history, the nation has appointed its first-ever Christian chaplain within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)—a man who ministers alongside Endtime Ministries and whose work is already impacting Jews and Arabs alike across the Middle East.
According to Endtime Ministries’ Doug Norvell and Vince Stegall, the newly appointed chaplain, Pastor Shawn, oversees nearly 20 congregations across Israel and surrounding nations. Now, Shawn’s role as a chaplain marks a prophetic breakthrough that they believe could accelerate revival in Israel.

“For the first time ever, they now have a Christian chaplain, and it’s Shawn” said Stegall. “And it’s Shawn who we work hand-in-hand with to help disciple people, lead them to being born again the Bible way and then growing in discipleship.“
The two acknowledged that while offering discipleship and Bible training to both Jews and Arabs used to be done quietly, things are shifting and people are hungry for the truth of the gospel.
“When we first started working in Israel, you couldn’t even talk loudly about being a Christian there,” Stegall explained. “And today, just 11 years later, there’s a Christian chaplain in the IDF.”
This historic appointment is more than a milestone—it is a divine signal that God is stirring a spiritual awakening in the Holy Land. As the first Christian chaplain takes his place in the IDF, the gates of revival are opening, and the Church is stepping into a prophetic role long foretold. What was once hidden and suppressed is now being revealed, and God’s hand is clearly moving to align His purposes with the nations.
