Is it possible for even the most wicked to be saved?
Netlflix’s show, “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” continues to captivate audiences with the chilling true story the man who became both a serial killer and grave robber.
According to Forbes, Gein stole over 40 bodies from graves and killed two different women after dealing with psychological turmoil and complicated feelings for his mother who claimed to be a Christian while teaching her sons to hate females.

In the last episode of the show, Ted Bundy reportedly appears to the forefront due to his murderous sprees that were inspired by Ed Gein. In his book, Death Row Redemption, Don Dickerman describes his experience of communicating with Bundy while he was on death row for his crimes.

I didn’t know Ted Bundy the killer. I only knew Ted Bundy, the death row inmate. While he only confessed to thirty murders, those who knew Ted Bundy the killer said he may have killed as many as one hundred young women. One biographer characterized him as “a sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human’s pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death, and even after.
Was Bundy saved before his death? According to Dickerman, it’s hard to know.
Bundy was baptized into the Mormon church in 1975, just a few months before he was tried and convicted of kidnapping. The church excommunicated him after his conviction. He was a “professing” Christian toward the latter stages of his life, professing repentance and saying he had received Christ.
It is difficult to know—no, it is impossible to know if someone is for real. Many people have asked me if I thought Ted Bundy was really a Christian. I don’t know. He did sign his letters “A Brother in Christ.” I can’t really comment on the genuineness of his professed Christianity.
However, other “monster” serial killers do indeed fit the bill of those who have been forgiven and cleansed through the blood of Christ.
Serial killer Willie Bosket Jr. was dubbed as “Monster” for murdering people on the subway as a teenager and for stabbing a guard in prison.
According to Dickerman, Bosket committed over 2,000 crimes by the time he was only 15.
Willie Bosket Jr. had the reputation as one of the most dangerous inmates in America. After he was convicted for the 1989 stabbing of a prison guard, Bosket was housed in solitary confinement “in a specially-built plexiglass-lined cell stripped of everything but a cot and a sink/toilet combination, with four video cameras watching him at all times.”
While in prison something remarkable happened: Bosket accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. In a previous interview with Dickerman, Bosket stated, “I’m still a revolutionary and will always be one. But now I am a revolutionary ambassador for God, in God’s army. Praise God!”
