Pastor Vlad Savchuk of Hungry Generation Church, warns that these items can lead to nightmares, panic, financial or health attacks and other spiritual disturbances. Drawing from his book Make the Devil Homeless, Pastor Vlad shares practical, biblically based guidance for cleansing your home.

5 Types of Items to Remove from Your Home
- Occult and Witchcraft Tools
These objects act as gateways for demonic influence. Examples include tarot cards, Ouija boards, spell books, ritual cups, or any items used for divination or witchcraft practices. Even if kept for curiosity, they can invite spiritual attack. - New Age and Wellness Objects
Items often associated with alternative spirituality can be deceptive. Crystals for “energy healing,” dream catchers, sage for smudging, astrology charts, and chant-based meditation tools may appear harmless but can attract counterfeit spiritual influence. - Idols and Objects from False Religions
Any object tied to worship outside of God, including statues, images, charms, or garments blessed by other religions, should be removed. Even gifts or art items from cultural rituals that were dedicated to spirits can give the enemy legal access to your home. - Cultural and Spiritual Symbols of Darkness
Certain symbols or artwork can represent fellowship with darkness or occult practices. Examples include voodoo dolls, serpent or dragon depictions, or items connected to spirit guides. These objects may serve as spiritual anchors for demonic activity. - Entertainment and Digital Content Promoting Darkness
Media and games that glorify occult, witchcraft, horror, pornography, or violence can have a spiritual effect. Digital spaces, such as phones, computers, or streaming playlists, should be cleansed of this content to maintain a godly environment.
Savchuk then noted seven ways you can cleanse your home following the removal of these items.

1. Repent: Ask God to forgive any involvement with occult or idolatrous items. Confess curiosity or defiance and seek His cleansing.
2. Renounce: Declare that you are no longer connected to witchcraft, divination, astrology, Ouija boards or any occult practices. Cancel all covenants with darkness.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to Reveal Whatever He Needs to be Seen: Walk through your home, closets, storage areas, cars and digital spaces. Let the Holy Spirit bring hidden objects or spiritual footholds to light.
4. Destroy or Remove Objects: Safely burn, shred or discard items that carry spiritual influence, following biblical examples such as Acts 19:19. Never sell these items.
5. Command Spirits to Leave: Speak aloud in Jesus’ name, commanding any spirits attached to objects or your home to leave. Break all legal rights the enemy may hold.
6. Dedicate Your Home to God: Pray over every room, door and window. Fill the space with Scripture, worship, and prayer. Replace darkness with God’s presence, peace, and power.
7. Resist and Submit: Maintain spiritual vigilance. Resist the devil in daily life, submit fully to God and guard your home against future spiritual intrusion.
