In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s shocking assassination, something remarkable is happening across America: people are flocking to church in numbers that pastors say they’ve never witnessed before. What the enemy meant for evil has ignited a powerful move of the Holy Spirit, shaking the very foundations of the church.

Reports are pouring in from congregations where attendance has suddenly exploded. In a video by Pastor Mark Driscoll, he described the unprecedented scene: “We had about 1,500 more people than seats. We had people walking half a mile to get to church… At some services we were three rows deep, standing room only.” Driscoll continued, “Pastors are seeing people flock to church and an entire young generation that admired and respected Charlie Kirk coming to church seeking answers…”
In an interview with CBN News, teaching pastor Sammy Lopez of Honor Church in Orlando captured the moment well: “What I’m watching and seeing all over social media is this ignition for a spiritual movement. Individuals that have never been to church are going to church. Individuals that have not been going for a while are going back. People that never owned a Bible are buying Bibles—because somewhere down the road in an interview that they saw with Charlie Kirk, they saw Charlie Kirk talk about the importance of knowing Scripture.”
Personal testimonies illustrate the depth of this awakening. CBN’s Raj Nair shared a TikTok video from the online user “IsZomethingWrong” where a woman who had never opened a Bible said she was compelled to pick up her husband’s after seeing Kirk’s murder online. Her eyes fell on John 8:32: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Pastor Lopez sees prophetic significance in this moment. Referring to Zechariah 13 and Matthew 26, he noted, “Strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. A shepherd has been struck, and the church is scattering. It’s creating what we’re seeing now—individuals going back to spirituality, or individuals that were never spiritual now asking questions about the supernatural.”
