Shots were fired Wednesday during a Turning Point USA event hosted by Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

According to the Daily Mail, “Footage from the scene showed event goers screaming as shots rang out on Wednesday.” Bystanders reported that Kirk, 31, was struck “in the neck area” while conducting a Q&A session with students.
Just minutes before the shooting, Kirk posted on X: “WE. ARE. SO. BACK. Utah Valley University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour.”

Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah responded to the incident, saying, “I am tracking the situation at Utah Valley University closely. Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and the students gathered there.”
Other conservative figures echoed the call to prayer. Candace Owens wrote, “Everyone please stop what you are doing and pray for Charlie Kirk. Please.” Michael Knowles added simply, “Pray for Charlie Kirk.”
Vice President JD Vance also posted on X, urging Americans to pray for Kirk during this difficult time.
