Mark Driscoll Legally Fires Back at Racketeering Lawsuit

Mark Driscoll filed a motion to dismiss a racketeering lawsuit against him.

Mark Driscoll legally fired back at a lawsuit claiming he ran Mars Hill Church like a crime syndicate by filing for dismissal.

Initially, the lawsuit filed earlier this year, demanded Driscoll and other board members reveal where tithe money went.

Driscoll waited to be served for the lawsuit, which was filed earlier this year, but no summons appeared.

“Nonetheless, if the Court decides to dismiss the civil RICO complaint against (fellow defendant John Sutton) Turner with prejudice, it should do the same for the remaining civil RICO defendant, Driscoll,” the lawsuit reads. “The failure to prosecute applies to both parties. The plaintiffs were put on notice about their obligation to serve process in a general sense when Turner contacted the plaintiffs directly. That notice reminded the plaintiffs that they must serve all plaintiffs, not just one plaintiff.”

Since leaving Mars Hill, Driscoll has been opening up about his walk with God, telling Perry Noble he started ministry too young.

Driscoll now leads The Trinity Church in Arizona, which meets in a building God “supernaturally provided.”
