Friends and family were supposed to be celebrating with their pastor and his wife, congratulating the two on his birthday and their anniversary.
Instead, they’re mourning after Bishop Phillip Davis died from an accidental gunshot wound.
The pastor of Nations Ford Community Church was reportedly cleaning his gun when it accidentally discharged.
“Today was going to be a huge celebration for all of us,” Church spokesperson Jacinda Garabito says. “The congregation, family, friends, and it’s just a huge shock. You feel the Spirit in here. It is a very sad day. It is a very heavy day.”
