Planned Parenthood’s side business – dissecting babies and selling the body parts – is “unconscionable.” That’s why one pro-life Democrat voted last night to defund the abortion giant. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-WV, told Neil Cavuto yesterday that the people of West Virginia would expect no less of him, and his own values demand that he vote to cut off the more than $500 million Planned Parenthood receives from taxpayers annually. “I’ve been pro-life all my life,” he said. “I was raised in a family that – life is a gift, and it’s special, and you do everything humanly possible you can do protect it, and rejoice when you get a gift from God — this beautiful, beautiful child.” “We always had the rape, incest, and exceptions of the mother conditions,” he said of the circumstances under which he supports abortion. He explained that, while he had previously voted for Planned Parenthood funding because of the Hyde Amendment, “this is far beyond what I can accept.” “I will vote to defund because of that,” he said. The money that goes to support Planned Parenthood, the senator said, should instead be used to support community health centers, which outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities 13-to-one.
