Tenth Avenue North’s lead singer, Mike Donehey, calls the band’s second album a “collision between our hearts and God’s truth.” With vulnerability and honesty, he invites people to expose their darkness to the light so they can find freedom and healing, described in opener and first single “Healing Begins.”
“You Are More” assures us that we have been remade and we are more than our mistakes. “Strong Enough to Save” reminds us that God will break through anything to bring us His salvation. “House of Mirrors” challenges us to look beyond ourselves; the rousing chorus is sure to get listeners singing along: “Come on / Come on / Let’s throw our mirrors down / Come on / Come on / Let’s shatter our glass on the ground / freedom is waiting for you now / Come on / Come on.”
Tenth Avenue North continue to create contemplative, acoustic music. They have a unique ability to write songs that challenge listeners yet are still infused with a sense of worship. And they blend those with straight-up worship bringing fans’ focus just where it should be-on God and God alone.
