Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. —Matthew 7:24
If we are ever going to make any progress in divine life, we shall have to have a real foundation. There is no foundation, only the foundation of faith for us. All our movements, and all that ever will come to us, which is of any importance, will be because we have a rock. If you are on the Rock, no power can move you. The need of today is the Rock to have our faith firm upon.
Your faith must have something to establish itself on.
If you build on anything else but the Word of God—on imaginations, on sentimentality, or any feelings, or any special joy—it will mean nothing to you without a foundatio on the Word of God.
Upon the solid rock of Your Word, I build
my life, Jesus. You are my Rock;
You are my foundation. Amen.
