Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. —James 1:17
You can always be sure that the good things in your life have come from God. You can always rely on His loving character to remain the same. God will not change. You will not come to Him one day and find Him in a good mood, and approach Him the next day and find Him angry and hostile. He is not a God of mercy on Monday and a God of unforgiveness on Tuesday. “I am the Lord, I change not” (Malachi 3:6).
What a comforting thought! Not only is God reliable and consistent, but James 1:17 couples that assurance with the fact that He is the giver of all good gifts. God’s generosity does not waver. He does not provide good things one day and withhold them the next day.
You do not have to hesitate to approach God for your needs. You can always count on Him to be the changeless, loving provider of every good and perfect gift.
Jesus, I thank You for forgiving my sins.
Keep me pure and humble in Your sight.
I praise You for every good
and perfect gift. Amen.
