People with wounded and broken spirits or perfectionists with performance-driven personalities often have difficulty receiving from God. Sometimes we become so caught up in our own pressures, pain, or anger that we don’t even recognize His voice. As we persist in receiving the truth of God’s Word about God’s heart for us, then our hearts can progressively be healed of what earthly authority figures have done to us.

Father, I know so many people who have broken, wounded spirits or who are driven by a desire to perform. I want Your love, Your passionate affection for them, to be shown to them through my life.
The Holy Spirit will reveal the Word of God to us,
giving us new and fresh understanding
about the passionate affection in God’s heart to us.
