New York Times bestselling author and broadcaster Eric Metaxas is so familiar with today’s leftist attempt to eliminate God from society that Charisma Media founder and CEO Stephen Strang knew he would be a perfect interview candidate for his new book, God and Cancel Culture.

In fact, Strang, the bestselling author of several books including God and Donald Trump, reserved an entire chapter for Metaxas in God and Cancel Culture called “It’s Not Cancel Culture, It’s Communism.” Metaxas has been very outspoken about the cancel culture, or what he terms as “cultural Marxism,” on his internet and radio program, The Eric Metaxas Show.

He has been so outspoken that, as Strang tells Metaxas on his show recently, the left has “painted a big bullseye on your back and is shooting at you.” In his book, Strang describes Metaxas as “a modern voice who is speaking more boldly and more articulately than most. He is adamant that Americans have enjoy liberty for so long that we no longer appreciate what liberty is.”

He also quotes Metaxas as saying, “My parents … raised me to know that communism is evil, that American freedom is glorious and wonderful and a treasure.” His outspokenness has led to the leftist media and culture attempting to cancel Metaxas in many ways

Today’s society has ushered in an age of gracelessness, Metaxas says, and asks Strang just how this atrocity has slowly but eventually crept into our culture.

“God is central to everything, whether or not atheists or agnostics or nominal Christians say so or not,” Strang says. “It’s been going on for a long time, and people are trying to influence God out of our culture. The end result is some sort of socialism or communism and that, at its base, is atheistic …

“The thing about the cancel culture crowd, or wokeness, is that there is no redemption,” Strang says. “If you sin, according to what they say, there is no redemption. That is the opposite of Christianity. One of the arguments is right out of the Bible where the shepherd left the 99 and went after one sheep. That’s what Christianity is all about. It’s actually the opposite of what communism or atheism is where the 99 are important and they sacrifice the one lost sheep.”
