Why is it so easy and effective for some people to cast out demons while others struggle to do the same? Kathryn Krick breaks down the four different reasons why you may be experiencing pushback in this area.
1. Misunderstanding regarding the spiritual keys and authority of the kingdom of heaven.
“…oftentimes, it’s because there’s revelation missing of the keys of the kingdom that unlock people from all kinds of oppression, even the most severe cases,” says Krick. Without proper understanding of what it means to have heavenly authority, one cannot cast out the demonic.
2. There is a lack of childlike faith.
Krick then quotes the Scripture, stating: “Matthew 11:25, Jesus said, ‘O, Father, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.” She points out that Jesus said this to the disciples right after they performed miraculous signs and wonders.
3. Humility is required to cast out demons. Only a truly humble heart can make this major impact.
Krick further shared that: “The reason why these disciples were able to cast out demons was because they have humbled themselves, [and] become childlike. They were surrendered…that’s how God could open up their spiritual eyes. When you are not humble and childlike, God can’t open up your spiritual eyes.”
4. The fruit of the Spirit is needed to do the same work that Jesus did. Without this, spiritual revelation cannot abound.
“When people are missing the fruit of the ministry of Jesus, it means they are missing spiritual keys. We need the keys of the kingdom. We need this revelation of the spiritual realm to access the kingdom of God,” said Krick.
Casting out demons is not about personal power or cleverness—it is about aligning with the principles of God’s kingdom.
Actual effectiveness comes from understanding our spiritual authority, cultivating childlike faith, walking in humility and displaying the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. True victory over the demonic is not earned—it is received through surrender, revelation and obedience to God.
