Jenny Weaver and Isaiah Saldivar are sounding a wake-up call for believers: there is a real spiritual darkness many people are opening up their homes to unknowingly.
Demons are spirits, and just as God’s presence can fill a home through prayer and worship, evil spirits can likewise take up residence in a space that has been left vulnerable. The items people bring into their homes can serve as open doors for demonic activity. Movies, video games, music or any object tied to occult practices can create an invitation for darkness, even when they seem harmless.

“A lot of you have these type of movies, these horror movies, these demonic games, these demonic dolls that you buy your kids and other things, not thinking they’re anything wrong. And I’m telling you right now, they are an open door,” Saldivar says.
Substance use is another major doorway into the demonic. Drugs and alcohol, including prescription medications, can open spiritual doors that expose people to deception and bondage. Modern pharmaceuticals, especially opioids, anti-anxiety drugs and other psychotropic medications, carry risks that go beyond physical side effects; they can dull spiritual awareness, impair judgment and create vulnerability to spiritual attacks.
“So many times people don’t realize those are major open doors and they go, ‘Well, if God made it, why can’t I do it?'” Weaver says. “That doesn’t mean that we can now just put anything in our bodies that comes from the earth.
The dangers extend beyond casual experimentation. What may seem like a harmless indulgence can quickly spiral into deeper spiritual, mental and physical bondage. Ultimately, anything tied to darkness has the ability to bring evil into your life.
