Why You Shouldn’t Stop Praying

The answer to your prayer may be beyond hope but here's why you keep praying.

A vacant home in our neighborhood sat for sale for a very long time! I thought it would never sell. When I walked by it, it made me sad because it was so beautiful but empty. But the home has finally sold and now it’s beautiful, full of life and activity. It reminds me of some of our prayers; they sit unanswered and we become hopeless and lonely, giving up on God and our prayers.

I’m here to tell you: Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see your prayers answered immediately. This doesn’t mean they won’t be answered at all. Faith believes God is doing something no matter what you see. Faith believes God is working on your behalf and knows what’s best for you. Faith believes the word of God and obeys it.

“Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:17-18)

What better reason is there to never stop praying than that the Word of God says so!

Trust God according to what His Word says and not according to how you feel. God is bigger than anything that comes your way. God is for you and not against you. Let your faith rise up. Don’t stop praying and don’t stop believing. Persistently pursue God in prayer and in relationship. He has awesome plans for you.

Dear God,
Your word is truth and life. Your word says You are forever faithful and You will not fail me. I believe in You and Your Word. Please increase my faith. Please forgive my disbelief and doubt. I need You to work miracles in my life and situations. I want to trust You are working no matter what I see. Help me to see with spiritual eyes and wait in expectation, knowing with You all things are possible. You are bigger than anything I face. Take away my fears, anxieties and stresses and take the burdens I carry off my shoulders. I am not big enough to handle these things on my own; but You are. I surrender all to You, and I trust You are working in my life right now. Amen.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1).
