I can’t go a day without sitting in the tangible presence of Jesus. It’s something that I not only love to experience daily, but that I need every day in order to live an impactful life. I want nothing more than for everyone around me to feel the freedom and empowerment found in His presence.
How far are we willing to go to help those around us get into the presence of God? I love the story in Mark where four men go through such great lengths to get their friend to the feet of Jesus. Could you imagine cutting a hole in a roof just to get close to Him? I’m sure those men got a lot of stares from onlookers. Thankfully, we will probably never have to damage someone’s property to get to Jesus (and I’m not saying that you should), but are you willing to go through such great measures not only to encourage but also to carry a sister who is being held back one way or another from God’s presence?
… four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” —Mark 2:3-5, NLT
If you and I are more established in truth and we see a daughter of God wavering in her faith, it is up to us to encourage her and reassure her of the fullness of life found simply sitting in the presence of God. Let’s grab hold of each other’s hands and break through any obstacle standing in the way of our sisters experiencing God’s presence.
