Early yesterday morning, Dec. 30, Lois Evans died at 70 years old. Although well-known as the wife of prominent pastor Dr. Tony Evans, Lois made an impact on her generation in her own right. And the mourning of prominent Christian leaders shows as much.
Dr. James Dobson and his wife, Shirley, released the following statement:
“We grieve today for Dr. Tony Evans at the passing of his beloved wife, Lois. This gracious lady will be remembered by millions of friends and admirers for her kind spirit, her warm smile and for her enormous contribution to the cause of Christ. Our prayers are with the entire Evans family, who have suffered yet another profound loss. May the God of all comfort embrace them in His love.”
Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, wrote:
“Our deepest sympathy to @DrTonyEvans and his family in the passing of his wife, Lois Irene Evans. I know they would appreciate our prayers during this time. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15)”
