Rape. Abuse. Addiction. Annie Lobert’s life as a call girl didn’t necessarily line up with the way she’d been raised.
“There was a huge battle going on when I started prostituting, because here I am, raised as this little Christian girl,” says Lobert. “I mean, seriously, I believed in God. I loved Jesus. I had an epiphany, which was when I was 8. Even though I was being sexually abused when I was 8—not by a family member but by a good friend—I still loved Him.”
Now a trafficking survivor and speaker, Lobert raises awareness about the sexual exploitation industry through her testimony. She’s the founder of Hookers for Jesus.
“I’ve had clients that were in suites of hotels that were $10,000 a night suites rape me with a gun to my head,” Lobert says. “[They would] try to throw me out a window, murder me. I mean, it’s crazy. It sounds crazy, but it’s true.”
She was diagnosed with cancer after 10 years in the industry and turned to cocaine to numb the pain.
That’s when she said the Lord warned her.
