Finding God’s Opportunity in What Looks Like Failure

Tricia Reyes

Sometimes life doesn’t turn out as planned, however it doesn’t mean life is over… #keepliving

Life goes on… So our life must go on! I have experienced many moments in my life where I felt trapped in my weaknesses, shortcomings, and ultimately my failures. I felt I didn’t have the confidence to go forward, yet I didn’t want to walk away so what did I have left? So many of us started out in life aspiring to do so many things and conquer the world. It seemed so easy as a teenager or even in college. However when you mix reality with your aspirations, it’s not that easy.

I don’t think anyone’s life goes exactly as they planned, we all have to make adjustments along the way. I am so grateful for God’s mercy and His grace as I’ve been on this journey for 20 years and have seen His faithfulness in my weak moments. Some days as I look back I can feel some regret, sometimes I just try to ignore the thoughts and not allow condemnation to set in, other times I can get mad at other people wanting to blame them, then there are other times I just laugh at myself. LOL

Sometimes you have to let it go and say “it’s not worth it” and in some situations “it’s not that serious!” I have decided to start living my life “stress free!” What does that mean? I can only control the outcome of things I have control of, I cannot control the outcome of things out of my control and I can’t afford to age quick which stress does to you. I’m 41 and I wouldn’t mind holding back the aging process, I do have control of accepting or rejecting stress in my life!

I have learned that my failures are my many opportunities to succeed. I have just figured another way that something doesn’t work, which means I am closer to finding what works. Hear what I am saying, I am not excusing our mistakes but I am saying life is not over when you fail.

Your failure can teach you a lot of things if you decide to come through correctly. These are the times you have to seek God like never before, humble yourself, get counsel if needed and trust God!

Be encouraged today and quit holding on to your past, you cannot change it however you can change your today and your future! Make every moment in your life count today, learn from your past mistakes and don’t give up. God is no respecter of persons and He loves you! I thank God that He loves me enough to not let me stay the same, His grace is sufficient!

Stand strong and confident in the Lord today, He enables and empowers you by the power of His Holy Spirit. May His grace be sufficient for you today and whatever you are going through, look for an opportunity for God to show Himself strong and be sure to give Him the Glory in your breakthrough!
