Happy Lehman, founding co-pastor of the Vineyard Church of Central Illinois, remembers when the Lord gave him a very strange prophetic word.
He and his wife, Dianne, had been attempting to conceive with no results, and doctors continually reported grim news.
“He said, ‘You’re going to get a really bad report in Chicago,’ and He told me a few of the things the doctor would say, but ‘Don’t worry about it. I’ve got it all taken care of,'” Happy says the Lord told him.
When the Lemans arrived at the doctor’s office, he informed the couple Dianne had a sizable tumor and might need a total hysterectomy.
The Lemans were relatively new Christians, and even newer to things of the Holy Spirit. But they decided to pray and prophesy over Diane’s womb.
Dianne decided she would “march into the doctor here in town and say, ‘I won’t see you anymore. God giving us a miracle,’ which I did.
“And he promptly, promptly chided me,” Dianne remembers. “But I walked out. Then we decided we’re going to tell everybody, and people start flocking actually to our home, as we had this little Bible study. They sat on our couch. And the first thing we wanted to do was tell them about this crazy baptism in the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit would fall on them and fill them, and they would speak in tongues, and they get delivered. We had no idea what we were doing. We have no idea what God was doing. But it was an exciting time.”
About a year later, two miracles took place.
