Brooke Simpson, the daughter of traveling evangelists, took third in the finale of The Voice.
Simpson, a Lee University alumnus, wowed judges and audiences with everything from hymns like “Amazing Grace,” “O Holy Night” and secular tunes by James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Pink and Journey.
