Does it seem as though the world continues to get darker and darker?

In a recent video, Rabbi Kirt Schneider shared why it appears as though the times keep getting darker and more complex, and how Christians should respond to what we see happening right now.

Wars, division, natural disasters and moral confusion are gripping the nations. Many believers feel the weight of these times, sensing that something has fundamentally shifted. But what if Jesus already told us this was coming? What if, instead of fearing the chaos, we recognized it as part of God’s sovereign plan?

Jesus tells us in Scripture, “Behold, I come quickly.” These are not just words of comfort but a prophetic declaration that demands our attention. His return will not be hidden or localized—it will be like lightning flashing across the sky, undeniable to all. Every eye will see Him.

As Schneider points out, before that glorious day, Jesus warned that tribulation must come. In Matthew 24, He told His disciples that wars, rumors of wars, famines and earthquakes are only the beginning of birth pains. These events are not signs of God’s absence but of His unfolding plan. He assured us, “See that you are not troubled. For all these things must happen,” (Matt. 24:6, MEV).

One of the most sobering realities Jesus revealed is that the world’s increasing turmoil is setting the stage for the rise of the Antichrist. Scripture teaches that the world will be deceived, morally confused and desperate. This is why the spirit of deception is so rampant today. Society is redefining truth, pushing a narrative that vilifies those who stand for righteousness. Believers who boldly proclaim Jesus are increasingly marginalized and even hated. Jesus prophesied this: “You will be hated by all nations because of My name.”

“Time is now,” Schneider says. “Get ready, beloved, to suffer for Jesus’ sake. Recognize that there’s a cost to pay. The Bible says everybody that desires to live godly in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted.”

Rather than endure persecution, some will choose comfort and acceptance over faithfulness to Christ. But Jesus calls His followers to stand firm, to count the cost and to remain unwavering in their devotion. However, nothing in this world can compare to the eternal joy that we will have when we are with Jesus for all eternity. The days ahead will not be easy, but those who endure to the end will be saved (Matt. 24:13).

Now is the time to get grounded in God’s Word, strengthen our faith and prepare our hearts. Jesus is coming soon. The question is—are we ready?
