This Pivotal Choice Activates the Ruth Anointing in Your Life

I believe with every fiber of my being that God has ordered and predetermined our paths according to His lovingkindness. The Bible tells us in Psalm 16:11 that God will show us the path of life. Destiny is a point in our life journey where the reason we were born finally takes shape. Our eyes are opened to our potential, and our ears are tuned in to the whisper of our purpose. When destiny settles on us, we are catapulted into our purpose and nothing can stop us.

Destiny thrives when our wills align with what God has already established and ordained. Ruth demonstrated this powerful shift when she stated that she would not return to her people, but she would travel on with Naomi to another culture and people, no matter the outcome. She had a sense that was the exact moment God was calling her to come out from among her people. She knew God was calling her higher, and she answered with a steady, “I will go” (Ruth 1:16).

The resolute nature of Ruth’s response silenced any kind of double-mindedness or instability that the enemy may have tried to leverage against her during a time of great grief and loss. When we answer the invitation to partner with God for our destiny, there should be no waffling or indecisiveness. We can take on the mind of Christ and move forward in mental strength, choosing not just the best way forward but God’s way forward. I like what Matthew Henry’s commentary says about this: “Those that go in religious ways without a steadfast mind, stand like a door half open, which invites a thief; but resolution shuts and bolts the door, resists the devil and forces him to flee.” The decisive nature of the Ruth anointing is like spiritual warfare! As it says in God’s Word, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him” (1 Kings 18:21b).

In her few words Ruth respectfully ended the discussion with Naomi—”‘Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go…’ When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said no more to her” (Ruth 1:16, 18)—and demonstrated a strong ability to refocus, make the right decisions and get back in the game of life after the death of her husband and to persevere past the voice of hopelessness in her mother-in-law. Ruth had a supernatural press within her spirit. She had an inner strength, an inner force pulling her toward something greater than her present reality.

This quiet strength is pivotal for women operating in the Ruth anointing. We may not be sure of the exact route God is directing us to take, but our confidence in Him as the leading, guiding force means we will not entertain conversation contrary to what God has commanded. This takes a level of inner strength that comes from the indwelling Spirit of God.

If we’re going to fulfill our destinies, we must strengthen our inner man in Him. We must rely on the Holy Spirit to defeat any opposition, whether external, such as limiting beliefs put on us by friends and family, or internal, such as our own fears, insecurities and inferiorities. We must build ourselves up on the foundation of our most holy faith (Jude 20). We cannot allow the enemy to defeat our inner sense of destiny. We must conquer and press into our destiny.

God speaks from your future. God is the Alpha and the Omega at the same time. Totality rests in Him. God created every living being with a purpose and He will release every resource and tool we need to obtain a life of fruitfulness and joy. The mandate for mankind is to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and subdue it, and to have dominion (Gen. 1:28). Where there has been a lack of fruitfulness and even famine, there is a grace in the Ruth anointing to break the power of poverty and lack and live a life of fruitfulness and fulfillment. If you make a commitment to the Lord and His destiny placed on your life, He will release the resources of heaven to ensure you are redeemed from a life of poverty and pain. Your decisions are the trigger mechanisms to living a life filled with pleasure and purpose. As Psalm 16:11 says, “You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Prayer Power for the Week of March 25, 2018

As we approach Easter this week remember the great sacrifice Christ made for us and His glorious resurrection signifying His victory over death, sin and all the powers of evil. Continue to pray for revival and ask the Lord how you can be part of the solution and not the problem in our nation. Lift up our allies, military, those serving to protect us and our civil, political and spiritual leaders. Read Matthew 26:41 and 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
