Psalm 27:1-7 For in time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord” (Ps. 27:5-6, KJV). What an encouraging word David wrote about times of trouble.

Yesterday we talked about positioning ourselves in the Rock (Jesus Christ) and trusting in Him in times of trouble. Peace comes to our souls when we do this. James 1:2-3 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations [trials]; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience” (KJV).

In this psalm, David talks about offering the sacrifice of joy and singing and praising God in the midst of trouble. David reveals the reason he is able to keep praising God in the midst of every trial. He shares that God Himself has set him upon Rock (Jesus Christ) and He has hidden him in His pavilion. I have experienced this pavilion on a trip to India, and nothing can compare with it.

On our second trip to India we discovered the secret pavilion of God. People in the church gathered around us and prayed for us. As they laid hands upon us to send us forth in India, one person had a vision. She said, “I see mighty angels standing in a circle around you. Their backs are toward you, and they are facing outward into the darkness. They are holding what looks like thick clear shields, and you are in an invisible gazebo of protection.” We were encapsulated in this pavilion the whole time we were in India on our second trip. This time we did not feel the great heaviness caused by demonic forces in the atmosphere. India is a land of great idol worship, and the over 300 million gods that are worshiped in India are actually demonic spirits. Those demonic spirits were incapable of penetrating the pavilion of peace placed around us because of the prayers of others.

Each morning you awaken and have your quiet time with the Lord, you can place yourself and your whole family in this secret pavilion of God’s peace. How can you do this? You can pray this prayer:

Thank You, Lord, for Your secret pavilion that protects my family and me. Your Word says, “The angels of the Lord are encamped around those who fear you.” I know they are on duty this day to protect my family from all the schemes of the enemy. Thank You.
