Prophetic author, reformer and co-founder of Bethel School of the Prophets Dan McCollam loves to help people explore biblical truths about unlocking the supernatural realm. He says people need to not just settle for “normal,” but pursue above-normal living, which, he says, involves taking responsibility for the supernatural life.
McCollam explores miracles, signs and wonders on a series of recent podcasts on The Prophetic Company on the Charisma Podcast Network. In a recent episode, he says these three areas are “three flavors of the supernatural that are meant really for every single believer.” These are first seen in the life of Jesus, he says, quoting Acts 2:22: “Men of Israel, listen to this. Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.”
In other words, McCollam says, “Part of Jesus’ accreditation was miracles, signs and wonders. [This] proved that he really came from God. And it proved that He was worth listening to.”
But this isn’t all. “Now in the book of Hebrews, the same assignment is placed on our life. In Hebrews Chapter two, verses three to four, it says, ‘This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord was confirmed to us by those who heard him. And God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.’ Now when we cross-reference this with other Scriptures about the gifts of the Holy Spirit being distributed, we’re talking about how they are distributed to the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12.”
McCollam adds, “So this passage in Hebrews is not just talking about what Jesus did to accredit through the supernatural method. manifestations of signs and miracles and wonders, but also how the church can accredit the fact that Jesus is alive, that Jesus is ascended, that He’s poured out His Spirit upon all flesh, so that we all can be partakers of the divine nature, so that we can all share in this supernatural lifestyle of miracles, signs and wonders.”
