I am not saying the gift is not legitimate but void of the fruit of the Spirit means the word does not represent the character of the Lord.
If we speak as an ambassador for anyone, we must represent in message and character. Ambassadors represent the character of those they represent. So yes, the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit are paramount in those operating in spiritual gifts.
