Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up-.-.-.-but he spake of the temple of his body. —John 2:19,21
Although death gripped mankind for thousands of years, the author of life trampled death and hell. When Jesus hung on the Cross, suspended between heaven and earth, the sun was absent and the earth silent.
But on the third day, the angels watched as the resurrected Son arose with the keys of hell and death in His hands (Revelation 1:18).
Though hell comes and tempests rage, you have the assurance that regardless of whatever happens to you in this life, when your earthly body is finished you are going to wing your way to the pavilions of God’s glory and station yourself in a place called heaven, where the streets are not just paved with gold but are made of it.
You have assurance of victory over death and the grave. You have the assurance of salvation from the wrath of judgment and eternal life with Christ. Go ahead and declare, “O death, where is thy sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
Because you know your Redeemer lives (Job 19:25), you have the assurance that you are bound for the Father’s house.
I praise you, O Risen Christ, for winning the victory of death
and sin and for giving me assurance that through trust
in you, I will be victorious as well. Amen.
