We all need vision to know where we’re headed. Dream big dreams. If you can achieve your dream in your own strength, then it isn’t a God-sized dream. Dream bigger!
It all starts in your mind, and we often hold ourselves back and don’t allow ourselves to dream. Instead, we settle or second guess what is in our heart. We begin to ask, “How will it happen?” We question our qualifications, and our mindset limits our ability to dream. Keep that dream front and center, and go after it.
Allow yourself to dream. We were all created for a purpose, and we each have our own talents, gifts and abilities. I encourage you to embrace who you were called to be. Stay true to yourself, and do what you have been called to do. Can I let you in on a secret? If you are still living and breathing, you have purpose. You have been created to fulfill a destiny only you can fulfill.
So where do you start? Here are some points to consider:
What gets you so excited that you can talk about it for hours? I want to encourage you to dream beyond that which you think you are capable. Dream bigger than the funding you currently don’t have. The funds will come, but first you have to envision it. Dream it.
Surround yourself with likeminded people and those going after their dreams. I have heard many times that if you are the smartest person in your group, it’s time to find a new group. Your mind is powerful, so be aware of what you listen to on a daily basis.
Get a poster board and get started. A vision board is simply a collage of photos, words and Scripture. The desires were placed in your heart for a reason, and if it matters to you, then it matters to God.
Finally, dream big and go after what you want. We are meant to thrive in life and live with purpose. We have to write the vision down as the Bible says in Habakkuk 2:2 and then go after it.
