In the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. —Luke 17:28-30
Peter tells us that God turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, making them an example of the fate of those who choose to live immorally (2 Peter 2:6). He also describes how God delivered Lot, the only righteous man among them (2 Peter 2:7-8; Genesis 19:22). The destruction of the city waited until the righteous man had been removed.
The unlawful deeds of the wicked are thrust at us over the media our exploding technology has made possible. This is the most exciting time for the gospel in the history of the world. The greatest revival of all time has begun! Hundreds of thousands of souls will hear the Gospel and receive Jesus as their Savior. And when the entire end time harvest is gathered in, the righteous (those who have been saved by the blood of Jesus) will be removed before destruction falls.
In what ways do you see revival already breaking out in our day? Could Jesus bring revival to your town through you? Are you ready and prepared for all that he has for you?
Jesus, let revival begin today with me. Ignite me
and let me burn for You. Amen.
