I know that I’m doing exactly what I was destined to do. It’s so much easier now, as I do it from the revelation and position as a beloved daughter instead of a servant or “woman of God.” Servants wait in line to receive a paycheck. Sons and daughters receive an inheritance. I’d much rather receive an inheritance any day than a paycheck.
To clarify, I do serve … God and others. But I serve from who I am, not for what I want to be. I serve as a daughter from love. A servant works; sons and daughters serve. I serve because I want to, not because I feel I have to in order to gain approval or acceptance.
I went from seeing myself as a servant to a beloved daughter. Servanthood is not wrong, but there’s a higher place we can live from. We are to serve from our positions as sons and daughters. We do not nullify being servants of God, but there is a higher level … Sonship!
For years and years, I strived to be a woman of God. I worked for nations for many years. Now as a beloved daughter, I receive nations as an inheritance. Sadly, we often bring people to Christ and steer them to be men and women of God. I believe we’ve done the sons and daughters of God an injustice by not allowing them to embrace and walk out their identities as sons and daughters of a loving Father, then serve from those positions.
When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, and His Father’s voice was heard from heaven, God didn’t say, “This is my beloved Savior … my beloved Messiah … my beloved Miracle Worker in whom I’m well pleased.” He said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased.” Jesus was baptized in water and with power from the Holy Spirit. But more than that, I believe He received a baptism of love from His Father. He was anointed by the Holy Spirit and affirmed by His Father. You are His beloved son, beloved daughter; created to live from Him and then serve the world. {eoa}
